Description: "Maroon Throat" is a spectacular color form of the pale pitcher plant or Sarracenia alata. The species is renowned for its pale yellow, lemon-scented flower. This particular clone is very large-growing, with green leaves that feature a solid red interior. Sarracenia alata "maroon throat" grows to 30" tall and produces its best leaves in late summer so it pairs well with Sarracenia flava var. rugelii, which produces its best leaves in the spring.
Pitcher Plant Care: Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss and perlite in a very large planter and keep it wet. In a bog garden, use peat mix, like peat and sand. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.
All plants will ship bare root, without pots and soil.
