Description: Sarracenia flava var. atropurpurea is its scientific name. It is an all red form of the trumpet pitcher, the largest North American pitcher plant there is! In the bog garden, this would be an excellent choice to plant next to the chartreuse Sarracenia flava var. rugelii.
The plants offered for sale are divisions from our best clones that we produced from seed.
Pitcher Plant Care: Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss and perlite in a very large planter and keep it wet. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.
All plants will ship bare root, without pots and soil.
