Description:  The "southern threadleaf sundew" or Drosera filiformis var. tracyii, is a sticky, trappy addition to your bug-eating garden. Growing over 1ft tall, it is one of the largest sundews in the world. It is a south-east United States native.  Plant it with your venus flytraps and pitcher plants and watch it catch loads of gnats.

It forms its winter resting bud and stops making leaves in late September.  The winter resting buds are like small marbles with sparse roots.

How to grow sundews:   Plant in full sun to part shade outdoors. Use peat moss and perlite in a very large planter and keep it wet. It loses its leaves in the winter. Cold hardy to 20F in a pot and 0F in the ground.
